  • Because HED - EDGS is a centralized server-based service. The HED - EDGS lets you access only in a web browser to create, send, sign, track, manage and generate electronic signature based documents and certificates processes. The KEONICS will therefore give the authorized person a login and a password. This can be used by the authorized person to create more users based on the needs.
  • An electronic signature, or e-signature, is a secure way to get consent or approval on electronic documents or forms.   • Yes. The template editor option gives the universities and institutions to design, convert and create the existing forms or templates into the HED - EDGS.
  • No. HED - EDGS offers 100% centralized server-based service which is available only online and can be accessed only using the internet.
  • No. The HED - EDGS is accessible only from the designated computer system and not accessible or made available anywhere else.
  • Yes. The security of your HED - EDGS digital experience is our priority. Industry standard security practices are deeply ingrained into our internal process, software development, as well as service operations processes. It manages and ensures identity management, data confidentiality, or document integrity thus protecting your documents, data, and other confidential information. HED - EDGS is certified compliant with ISO, SOC 2 Type 2, and PCI DSS.
  • All HED - EDGS transaction data, documents, certificates, and all its metadata are securely stored in the Karnataka State Data Centre (KSDC) with secured Disaster Recovery (DR) site.
  • You can use HED - EDGS for any sort of templates using the template designer to create, manage and generate existing or new forms or templates and export it into a PDF document for easy sharing and made accessible across all devices.
  • The entire HED - EDGS application is designed and developed in the English (US) language. However, the Kannada language can be very much used to design, manage, create and generate for the existing or new templates or forms. And they can also be configured within the administration tools.
  • We accept online payment mode options such as credit card, debit card, net banking (IMPS, NEFT or RTGS).
  • No. The student is the final recipient of the document or certificate electronically generated with an electronic signature using the HED - EDGS.
  • HED - EDGS is a Government of Karnataka initiative and is being made acceptable across the country and elsewhere. This would greatly increase the security, authenticity and verifiability of the certificates and bring “Trust” factor for genuine certificates.
  • Yes, you can print a copy of all the e-documents/e-certificates generated through HED – EDGS and hand it over to the whoever requests for them.
  • HED - EDGS framework respects privacy of the data and records of each student, universities, institutions and its affiliated colleges. e-Documents/e-Certificates can be accessed only by the universities and institutions who have generated it. Also, students who have received it can also access these e-documents/e-certificates generated through HED – EDGS. Other verifiers who want to verify the student’s information can also access these e-documents/e-certificates.
  • As a rule, a verifier may be requested to make a reasonable fee payment to the universities or institutions generating the e-documents/e-certificates. These reasonable fees will be charged for HED – EDGS services which will be as per the guidelines from Department of Higher Education, Government of Karnataka in this matter.
  • The responsibility for accuracy and authenticity of e-documents/e-certificates records and identity of the student’s rests with the universities, institutions and its affiliated colleges. Therefore, the universities, institutions and its affiliated colleges need to ensure that e-documents/e-certificates data is thoroughly verified and authorized persons lodge the records in HED - EDGS under their account.
  • Yes. A standard MIS will be provided to you to get the required information and also objectively decide on various aspects of e-documents/e-certificates records issuance and verification.
